- You will need a wire hanger or a similar piece of flexible, sturdy wire. Straighten the hanger, leaving a hook at one end.
- Insert the Wire Hanger:
- Slide the wire hanger between the top of the garage door and the frame. The goal is to catch the emergency release rope attached to the garage door opener. This rope usually has a red handle and hangs down from the opener rail.
- Catch the Emergency Release Rope:
